Alternative Education Programmes

Lear Training offers an alternative education programme to schools, community groups, intervention projects and training organisations. Our sports education team work with youths and young adults from 14 - 19 years old to instil enthusiasm, motivation, self-discipline and most importantly HOPE.

We focus this programme on our level 1 vocational course Assist in Delivering Health Related Activity Sessions (emphasis is on sport and recreation sessions) and our own level 1 Sport Performance Analysis programme that aims to reengage young people back into learning.

We develop adaptable learning environments that are simulate real world work scenrios but are relaxing and friendly. They are specifically designed to be different from the school environment and support the reengagement into education.

Our level 1 programme is structured with a high level of practical content to avoid excluding those young people who struggle more than most with academic tasks. Every session will require students to transfer a brief academic period into practical 'real world' activities, this supports both memory retention and a range of transferable employability skills.

Lear Training will consult with you to establish how our provision fits into the young person's overall learning plan and can enhance and speed up the development process.

We are passionate about helping young people re-integrate back into education and believe the best way to achieve this is by fostering partnerships with schools, community groups and the young people to deliver a sports education programme that they want to be part of. The programme is best delivered in environments familiar to the young people and subject to suitable facilities being available the program can be delivered in-house.

We have a professional and talented team dedicated to our vision of providing an education that encourages young people to realise their potential and discover pathways for their future.

Our programme seeks genuine dialogue with young people, challenging them to create their health related sessions (sport related), ideas, and solutions to any problems.

As mentioned lessons are organised so the students enter into lively practical sessions, thereby stimulating their engagement and determination to transfer their knowledge and succeed.
